An incredible toadstool Fluorite with Calcite from the legendary Annabel Lee Mine, Hardin County, Illinois — showing off beautiful layers of blue, purple and yellow zoning.
The color combination is next level. That soft icy blue transitions into purple along the edges, while the warm yellow core glows through the center. And sitting underneath is the contrasting white Calcite, giving the whole piece that classic toadstool composition collectors love.
Small specimen. HUGE personality.
These old Illinois fluorites are pieces of American mineral history, and when you get great zoning, translucency and a killer composition like this, they’re just impossible not to appreciate.
