LAKE BAIKAL APATITE MAGIC

LAKE BAIKAL APATITE MAGIC.

Just picked up a new small parcel of Apatites from Lake Baikal, Russia — and these little beauties are AMAZING.

In normal light, they show that killer saturated electric blue Lake Baikal is famous for… but throw a polarized lens over them and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS.

BLUE GREEN/YELLOW

The color shift is absolutely wild. Rotate the lens and these crystals completely transform in front of your eyes — showing off the incredible optical character hiding inside.

Small crystals. SERIOUS JUICE.

Another reminder that some of Earth’s coolest art needs to be seen from more than one angle.

THE HUNT CONTINUES.
