An absolutely killer Rhodochrosite from Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, Brazil , exploding with intense cherry-red color that absolutely IGNITES when the light hits it.
Hold this beauty up to the window and it goes from deep saturated crimson to a blazing, almost neon cherry-red glow. The combination of color, translucency, crystal form and sheer visual impact makes this one impossible to ignore.
This is exactly why I love holding minerals up to natural light—you get to see an entirely different personality hiding inside the crystal.
