This is exactly why I can never get enough of Illinois Fluorite.

An absolutely spectacular cluster of glassy, sharply formed cubes displaying layer after layer of incredible color zoning. Deep royal purple frames glowing golden-yellow cores, with flashes of electric blue and pink creating an almost stained-glass effect through the crystals.

The internal architecture on this piece is mesmerizing. Every cube seems to hold its own world of color, and under strong light those golden centers absolutely IGNITE against the darker purple zoning.

And then you add the provenance — ex. Ralph & Rose Heiman Collection of Florissant, Missouri — giving an already beautiful Illinois classic another layer of collecting history.

This is what great fluorite is all about: color, zoning, geometry, transparency, and presence.
