Some specimens are just meant to find their way into the collection… and this one had my number written all over it.
An absolutely killer 22.22 gram Tourmaline from Rubaya, North Kivu, DR Congo — so naturally, I’m calling this one “The 22 Tourmaline.”
Beyond the perfect weight, this crystal is a beauty. Incredible elongated form with multiple parallel crystals, strong natural striations, and gorgeous zoning moving through rich greens into earthy pinkish-brown tones through the center. The architecture and color combination give this piece serious character from every angle.
22.22 grams. 22sGEMS. The 22 Tourmaline. Sometimes the universe makes it too easy.
