What a killer piece. This Calcite from Daye County, Huangshi, Hubei, China is loaded with rich burnt-orange to amber color, glassy luster and an incredible stacked crystal formation.
I love the architecture on this one—the overlapping crystals build upward into a dramatic composition, while the transparency and deep warm color absolutely ignite when the light hits it. From some angles it looks almost molten.
A beautiful Chinese Calcite with incredible presence, mounted on a custom base and carrying its original locality label.
