A PUBLISHED GOLDEN MASTERPIECE
Taking this one for a spin… and every rotation reveals another reason why this crystal is so special.
An extraordinary 163 gram etched Heliodor from the legendary Volodarsk-Volynskii pegmatite field in Ukraine — a true piece of mineral history.
The etching on this specimen is absolutely mesmerizing. Deep geometric textures sculpt the crystal from every direction, while that rich golden color and beautiful transparency seem to glow as the light moves across it. This is Ukrainian Heliodor at an elite level.
And the provenance takes it even further.
This exact crystal was published on page 74 of Private Mineral Collections of Texas I, the 2009 Mineralogical Record Supplement, from the renowned Jim & Imelda Klein Collection, photographed by the legendary Jeff Scovil.
Now sitting proudly on a custom Sunnywood base, this is the kind of specimen that brings together everything I love about collecting — incredible natural artistry, rarity, provenance, and history.
163 grams of golden, etched perfection.
Pieces like this are exactly why the hunt never stops.
