RAINY SUNDAY… WITH A LITTLE COLOR THERAPY.
Gray skies outside. A full spectrum of color in my hands.
Filming this extraordinary 26.5 gram Tourmaline from the famed Chiá Mine in São José da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil against a rainy Sunday backdrop—and somehow the moody weather makes these colors hit even harder.
This crystal is an incredible natural journey through color. Saturated raspberry pink transitions into a delicate near-colorless zone, explodes into vivid emerald green, and finishes with an electric blue-violet termination. All naturally grown within one extraordinary crystal.
Exceptional transparency, glassy luster, crisp prism faces and beautiful internal growth give this piece a completely different personality with every slight turn.
There’s something about minerals on a rainy day—the softer light, the sound of the rain, and nowhere to be but right here enjoying some of Earth’s art.
Nature doesn’t paint rainbows like this… it grows them.
And pieces like this are exactly why the hunt never ends.
