UKRAINIAN GOLD AT SUNSET

Some minerals were just made for golden hour…

47.5 grams of spectacular etched Heliodor from Volodarsk-Volynskii, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine — taken outside as the sun was setting, and WOW does this crystal come alive.

That warm sunset light pours straight through the crystal, igniting its rich golden-yellow color and making the entire piece look like it’s glowing from within.

The natural etching is absolutely incredible — deeply sculptural, layered surfaces wrapping around beautiful transparency, with every angle catching the fading sunlight differently.

This is exactly why these Ukrainian Heliodors are some of my favorite beryls to collect. Millions of years of pressure, chemistry, heat and chance… then one perfect moment in the setting sun to show off what nature created.
