A MEDINA CLASSIC, FILMED UNDER THE OPEN SKY.
Some crystals stop you in your tracks the moment the light hits them.
This remarkable 110.60 gram etched Aquamarine from the legendary Medina region of Minas Gerais, Brazil is one of those pieces. Recovered in 1998, during one of Medina’s most celebrated producing years, it represents a generation of aquamarines that has become increasingly difficult to find.
Filmed outside in natural light, the crystal comes alive. Its unmistakable icy blue color, exceptional transparency, and flowing natural etching create an almost liquid appearance, as though nature sculpted it one surface at a time over millions of years. Every turn reveals new textures, flashes of light, and the unmistakable character that has made Medina aquamarines legendary among collectors.
Finding older Medina crystals with this combination of size, color, preservation, and natural artistry isn’t something that happens every day. Pieces like this remind me why the hunt continues to fuel me. Nature creates the art… I just never stop searching for it.
