A cabinet full of Earth’s finest geometry.
There’s something timeless about Illinois fluorite. The impossible color zoning, razor-sharp cubes, glassy luster, and the way every specimen seems to come alive when the light hits it.
This cabinet is anchored by some of my favorite Illinois classics from legendary localities including the Annabel Lee, Minerva No. 1, Denton, and Hastie’s Quarry mines, with a few exceptional fluorites from other world-class localities mixed in for good measure. Each piece has its own personality, history, and story of formation over millions of years.
No matter how many times I open this cabinet, I always discover something new. That’s the magic of collecting. Nature never repeats itself.
