A crystal that literally holds ancient water…
This extraordinary 134 gram Smoky Amethyst from the legendary Streep Mine, Namibia is packed with everything that makes this locality so coveted.
Front and center is a massive face enhydro—an ancient pocket of water trapped inside the crystal during its growth millions of years ago. As the crystal turns, rich crimson-red hematite inclusions drift through the upper portion, while the deeply saturated smoky-amethyst core glows with incredible depth and luster.
Every angle reveals something new. Every beam of light brings the crystal to life.
Specimens combining this level of clarity, color, a dramatic visible enhydro, and striking hematite inclusions are becoming increasingly difficult to find, making this a true collector-level example from one of Namibia’s finest localities.
Nature didn’t just grow this crystal… it preserved a moment in geological time.
