DENTON TRI-COLOR MAGIC.
This one is an absolute beauty from the legendary Denton Mine, Hardin County, Illinois. A killer fluorite showing a glowing golden-yellow interior wrapped in transparent light purple with flashes of blue-violet along the edges. Backlit, the zoning absolutely comes alive.
The provenance makes this piece even more special. The original A.J. & S. Koster Collection label dates the specimen to at least 1995, when it was acquired from North Star Minerals. The historic label describes light-purple transparent fluorite over yellow etched fluorite, with depressed central areas, plus chalcopyrite and a green coating. It later passed through Paul Siegel, with an additional label identifying malachite, chalcopyrite and calcite.
A beautiful example of classic Illinois fluorite with the history to match.

Color, zoning, transparency AND provenance… this one checks every box.
