Red, White & Blue… written by the Earth.
On this historic 250th celebration of the United States, it’s hard not to appreciate how nature occasionally creates something that feels just as extraordinary as the moment we’re celebrating.
This 73.34 gram collector-grade tourmaline from Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil is one of those unforgettable crystals. Its incredible color zoning transitions from deep ruby-red at the base, through crystal-clear brilliance, into vivid sky-blue and subtle violet tones near the termination—an almost perfect reminder of the colors we proudly celebrate today.
Collector-grade tourmalines of this caliber are exceptionally rare. The size, transparency, razor-sharp crystal form, remarkable color separation, and untouched natural beauty all come together in a specimen that stands in a class of its own. Every angle reveals another layer of complexity, proving once again that millions of years of pressure, chemistry, heat, and chance can create something truly impossible to duplicate.
As collectors, we’re fortunate to be temporary stewards of these natural masterpieces. Today, while celebrating 250 years of freedom, opportunity, and independence, I’m also celebrating the incredible wonders our planet continues to produce.
Happy Fourth of July. May we always appreciate the freedom to explore, discover, collect, and share the beauty of our world.
