40+ years as a NY’r. A lifetime of waiting. A lifetime of believing
Other40+ years as a NY’r. A lifetime of waiting. A lifetime of believing.
As a New Yorker, I’ve dreamed about this moment for as long as I can remember. Through the heartbreaks, the near misses, the rebuilding years, and every season where hope felt just out of reach, one thing never changed—I never stopped believing the New York Knicks would one day stand at the top of the basketball world again.
And now, they’re champions.
This wasn’t just a championship run. This was a team that embodied everything New York is about: grit, toughness, resilience, determination, and a refusal to quit no matter the odds. Time and time again they were counted out. Time and time again they got back up. They fought for every possession, every game, every inch.
This team never gave up.
That’s why this feels different. That’s why this feels special.
It feels like destiny.
Like it was written all along.
And at the center of it all was Jalen Brunson. The leader. The closer. The heartbeat of this franchise. An MVP in every sense of the word and now forever a Knicks legend. His toughness, poise, and belief inspired an entire city and helped deliver the moment generations of Knicks fans have waited their whole lives to experience.
For every fan who stayed loyal. For every fan who endured the pain. For every fan who kept wearing orange and blue no matter what…
This one is for us.
The New York Knicks are NBA Champions.
And it is every bit as magical as I imagined.
